The developer of the project is Palm Beach Gardens, FL-based Collins Development Co. which plans to have the work completed in early 2003.

With the new facility, Yamaha is more than tripling its existing space in the area. Yamaha will move from its existing 12,000-sf building on Okeechobee Boulevard to the new showroom and service center on Military Trail between Okeechobee Boulevard and Belvedere Road.

Carrington Lloyd III, vice president of Yamaha, says in a prepared statement that after the new facility is completed, Yamaha expects to triple its business in less than two years.

According to the company, motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle sales are up 22% this year in South Florida, and the region ranks top in the nation for water vehicles such as personal watercraft.
