MIAMI-Burkhardt Construction Inc. of West Palm Beach, FL, has begun renovating and expanding a former Scotty’s hardware store in the same city to convert it into a 41,000-sf Yamaha showroom, the largest of its kind in South Florida, according to the company.

The developer of the project is Palm Beach Gardens, FL-based Collins Development Co. which plans to have the work completed in early 2003.

With the new facility, Yamaha is more than tripling its existing space in the area. Yamaha will move from its existing 12,000-sf building on Okeechobee Boulevard to the new showroom and service center on Military Trail between Okeechobee Boulevard and Belvedere Road.
