Pilkington North America, a manufacturer of glass products, leased 9,000 sf at Rittiman West 7 in the northeast submarket. Joe Carroll and Teresa Larkin, a Grubb & Ellis Co. team in the San Antonio office, represented the building owner, TA Associates, in the transaction. Rittiman West 7 and its neighbor, Rittiman West 6, have 147,000 sf of distribution space.
In the other deal, an organization that's provide educational and religious services to prisoners has bought a 3,000-sf office in near northwest San Antonio. Bexar County Detention Ministries bought the building at 503 San Pedro from Charlie and Irene Kymes. The price was not disclosed, but the Bexar County Appraisal District put its 2002 assessed value at $144,000. Carroll represented the Kymes.
The detention ministries moves from space in the Bexar County Jail in downtown San Antonio. Its new home is near the intersection of Interstate 10 and Loop 410. The group provides educational, social and religious services to jailed adults and juveniles and offers follow-up service after their release.
