Marriott Residence Inn will be a 13-story structure of suites, and will have the requisite Residence Inn brand amenities including 2,400 sf of meeting space, a sub-level parking garage for 100 vehicles, a business center and a fitness facility. Metropolitan Washington's The Donohoe Companies and Hospitality Partners are developing the project jointly with Four Fires members from the Forest County Potawatomi Community of Wisconsin, Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin, and California-based San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, and Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians.

"We knew this was the type of investment opportunity we needed to launch the Four Fires business venture," says Hill Group tribal advisor and member of the Oneida Nation, Rick Hill. "We felt the Residence Inn Capitol was a smart investment, and our new relationship with first-class partners brings to Four Fires a strong track record of successes in hotel real estate and management." Marriott officials return the sentiment when speaking of its involvement with Four Fires.

"This is another strong example of the increasing diversity of our key owners and franchisees," Marriott International spokesman Mathtew Carroll tells GlobeSt.com. Four Fires and partners paid $7 million to Phillips Development Corporation for the .6-acre parcel of land on the 300 block of E Street that will become home to the new hotel. Construction is expected to begin next year. Upon completion, Hospitality Partners will manage the property.
