The hotel, which is located on 22 acres at One Old Golf Course Rd. in Monterey, has begun working on soft goods renovations and will begin major renovations on the guest rooms in the middle of next year. The hotel plans to completely renovate all 575 guest rooms, including, new doors, carpet, wall coverings, bedspreads, lighting and furniture. Exterior renovations will include enhancing cosmetic appearance and providing new patio furniture.
In addition, Peninsula, the hotel's signature restaurant, and Knuckles, the hotel's sports bar, will also undergo extensive renovations, and a new spa and health center will be added to the facilities.
In 2001, Hyatt Regency Monterey completed a comprehensive $9 million renovation to all public areas throughout the resort, which Hyatt Corporation officials say will be complimented by the upcoming project.
