MONTEREY, CA-Hyatt Regency Monterey has started a $20 million renovation on the 575-room hotel that it hopes will help make the hotel more appealing to groups, leisure and business travelers.

The hotel, which is located on 22 acres at One Old Golf Course Rd. in Monterey, has begun working on soft goods renovations and will begin major renovations on the guest rooms in the middle of next year. The hotel plans to completely renovate all 575 guest rooms, including, new doors, carpet, wall coverings, bedspreads, lighting and furniture. Exterior renovations will include enhancing cosmetic appearance and providing new patio furniture.
