Deutsche Post Sublets 23,500 SF from Oracle

HERNDON, VA-International mail service company Deutsche Post Global Mail, a division of Germany’s Deutsche Post, has left Loudoun County for Fairfax County in its recent US headquarters relocation to a 23,500-sf space in the Presidents Plaza One building. The company subleased the second-floor space from the Oracle Corporation for a short-term period at an undisclosed amount.

Located at 196 Van Buren Street in close proximity of the Washington Dulles International Airport, the 103,000-sf building fronts the Dulles Toll Road and is 100% occupied according to information from the property’s leasing agency Jones Lang LaSalle. In addition to Oracle, Nissan Motor Corp. is on the building’s tenant roster, occupying 25% of the 12-year-old structure’s office space on the third and fourth floors. Speaking to GlobeSt.com about Deutsche Post’s decision to relocate to the area, Fairfax County Economic Development Authority president and CEO Gerald L. Gordon explains that the county has, “the skilled work force a foreign-owned company wants to be able to hire when it comes to the US, and the location near Dulles Airport offers great connections to the company’s other offices and mail terminals in the US and abroad.” The county is home to over 220 foreign-owned operations.
