Dalton Village Opens in Charlotte With $11M Facelift

ATLANTA-Under the new name, Arbor Glen, the once-derelict public housing project at Clanton Rd. and West Blvd. in Charlotte, opens 144 pre-leased apartment units, completed for $11.5 million by Charlotte-based Crosland in partnership with the Charlotte Housing Authority.

ATLANTA-Phase I of Arbor Glen, a $54-million revitalization of the Dalton Village public housing project in Charlotte, has opened. It is 100% pre-leased and contains 144 apartments. The construction cost was $11.5 million, $300,000 under budget.

Phase II, now under way, adds an additional 141 apartment units, and Phase III calls for 48 single-family houses. On completion, the property will also include a pool, two clubhouses, onsite healthcare facilities, a commercial/retail center, and a $1.5-million community outreach center.

Dalton Village originally consisted of 300 rental units on about 32 acres. All but 54 units were demolished during the revitalization of the property. Of those, 50 were renovated as apartments and four were turned into office space for case managers and a conference room.
