Garrick-Aug Worldwide Ltd. vice chairman Faith Hope Consolo and managing director Joseph A. Aquino represented Roche Bobois as well as building owner George Comfort & Sons Inc. in negotiating the10-year lease at 200 Madison Ave. While details are not being released, asking rent for the space was $1.5 million per annum.

"200 Madison is a central location, in the 34th Street District, one of the fastest growing retail areas, considered the heartbeat of Manhattan," says Consolo. "It draws business not only from the entire Manhattan marketplace, but also New Jersey and the boroughs. It is just steps away from the excitement of Herald Square, the Empire State Building, and Fifth Avenue."

Roche Bobois will occupy 12,500 sf on the ground floor, roughly 15,000 sf of selling space of the lower level and 2,000 sf on the mezzanine level.

Contemporary furniture designer Maurice Villency kept a showroom at 200 Madison Ave. "for over 20 very successful years," Consolo notes. "Their new showroom is on Third Avenue, the Southeast corner of 57th Street." Additional Maurice Villency showrooms are located in Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Maryland.
