Morris, a 20-year veteran of the Austin real estate market, will handle management, training and hiring of real estate brokers in the office. A senior vice president, Morris will continue to broker retail and investment property deals for Weitzman in Austin. He reports to Scott Freid, senior vice president and partner-in-charge of the Austin office of the Weitzman Group and its affiliate, Cencor Realty Services, a development and management company.

Weitzman and Cencor have been busy in Central Texas since summer. Weitzman named a new leader for its San Antonio office. Meanwhile, Cencor, partnering with GE Capital Real Estate, bought eight shopping centers to double its retail portfolio to about four million sf. Last month, Cencor landed a 126,300-sf Target store for its Capital Plaza shopping center in north Austin.
