$10M Holiday Inn Slated for Gwinnett County

ATLANTA-Locally based Six Continents Hotels breaks ground near the Gwinnett Civic and Cultural Center for a 143-room prototype Holiday Inn, on 2.5-acre lots. Construction costs will be between $63,000 and $71,000 per room.

ATLANTA-Locally based Six Continents Hotels, Americas Inc. has broken breaks for a prototype Holiday Inn designed specifically for smaller sites of about 2.5 acres. It will be located on Sugarloaf Pkwy. in Gwinnett County near the Gwinnett Civic and Cultural Center.

Spokeswoman Natasha Gullett tells GlobeSt.com “the projected cost to develop a new hotel, designed on this prototype, is predicted to range between $63,000 and $71,000 per room, excluding land.” That would place the project’s hard construction cost at about $10 million.

The hotel is expected to open in fall 2003, making it the first of 25 corporate-owned Holiday Inn hotels the company will build over the next five years.
