Boise Apartment Occupancy Stuck at 90%

BOISE, ID-Unlike their counterparts in much of the rest of the country, Boise apartment dwellers see a slight rise in rents this year, according to a recently released survey by RealFacts, the multifamily data specialists. The average occupancy rate remains around 90%, where it has been stuck for all of 2002.

BOISE, ID-After three quarters of flat or declining rents, apartment dwellers in Boise have seen an increase of $10 a month in their average rents. According to a survey just released by RealFacts, the multifamily data specialists, the average rent in Boise in September 2002 was $709, compared to $699 in June.

Although there has been a 2.1% decline in rents over the past year, most of that decline came in the early quarters. The average rent is now back at its level in the first quarter of 2001, the RealFacts survey has found. The best performance came in the one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. Studios remained unchanged, and three-bedroom units declined. The one and two bedroom units make up nearly 89% of the total rental inventory in Boise.
