The San Francisco Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee told the Olympic Committee that the Santa Clara Mission College campus would be used to build a $47 million, 19-court tennis complex. However, campus officials claim that the group misrepresented itself, as the college never told them that the site was available for use.

In addition, the Organizing Committee told the Olympic Committee it would build an $830 million Olympic village on the 75-acre Moffett Field, a former military base owned by the U.S. Army. The U.S. Army, however, says that they, too, never specified that the property was available, as the property is currently allocated for military housing currently scheduled for development prior to 2012.

The Organizing Committee says it does not anticipate the situation will be a problem, as they have many facilities that will support the 2012 Olympics, including San Jose's HP Pavilion, the Oakland Coliseum Arena and Daly City's Cow Palace. As well, the Organizing Committee says it is completely understandable that its proposal would still have issues to iron out with the Olympics still 10 years away.
