The event, Real Estate's Impact on the Long Island Economy, will kick off with remarks by Real Estate Practitioner's Institute chairperson Kathleen Giamo, followed by commentary from Israel on Congressional legislation and its effects on the Long Island Economy.

Gerald D. Schein, vice chairman of Real Estate Media Inc., GlobeSt.com's parent company, will moderate three panels, beginning with a discussion of real estate development. On the dais will be Klein & Eversoll partner Donald Eversoll, Reckson Associates Realty Corp. co-president Mitchell Rechler, Spiegel Associates CEO Alan Eidler and Ken Breslin of Breslin Realty.

A session on real estate finance will feature Roslyn Bancorp vice chairman John R. Bransfield Jr., Barry Stein of Rohman and Stein Associates and New Plan Excel Realty Trust CEO Glenn Rufrano.

Finally, an exploration of real estate taxes will include Nassau County Assessor Charles O'Shea, Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi and Laureen Harris of Cronin, Cronin and Harris.
