14-Screen Theater, Medical Office on Auction Block

CHICAGO-A Loews movie theater complex in Streamwood and a 30,000-sf medical office building in southwest suburban Olympia Fields will be auctioned Nov. 6 by Sheldon Good & Co., along with a 1.83-acre commercial site in Willowbrook.

CHICAGO-A Loews movie theater complex in northwest suburban Streamwood is back on the auction block, as well as a 30,000-sf medical office building in southwest suburban Olympia Fields and a commercial development site in Willowbrook, another southwest suburb. The movie theater was set for an earlier Sheldon Good & Co. auction last month, but lack of necessary paperwork caused the delay, explains Sheldon Good & Co. president Alan R. Kravets.The 65,568-sf, 14-screen theater at 1500 Buttitta Dr. now goes up for auction Nov. 6 at a suggested opening bid of $2.2 million. The property, deemed surplus by the New York-based cinema operator, includes 14.68 acres along Barrington Road. “Its sale presents a terrific investment opportunity for a theater operator or a developer interested in redeveloping the site,” Kravets says in a statement.

The medical building at 20303 S. Crawford Ave. is next to St. James Hospital. Offered at a $950,000 suggested opening bid, the property is expected to generate $441,416 of gross income for 2002, according to Steven L. Good, chairman and chief executive officer of the auction company. “This is a rare chance for investors, owners, medical professionalsor corporate buyers to purchase this income-producing property at their own price,” he says.
