The property owner, Carolville Ltd., will give the property to the city, according to a contact with Stars and Guitars, an organization promoting the complex. In exchange, the city will extend Vista Ridge Boulevard to FM 1431, which will provide access to other property Carolville owns. Carolville has pledged $550,000 toward the road work and the city will kick in another $400,000 for right-of-way costs. The extension of Vista Ridge creates another north-south corridor for Cedar Park, which residents have wanted, the contact tells GlobeSt.com.

Cedar Park residents are to vote Nov. 5 on bond propositions totaling about $30 million that would pay for construction of the complex. The city would own the complex and Dallas-based Southwest Sports Group would lease it for 25 years. A minor league hockey team owned by Southwest would play at the complex.
