The museum purchased a two-story, 119,000-sf building at 1401 Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View. The building was built in 1994 and is situated on 7.5 acres of land.
The seller was Carlyle Shoreline Trust, which purchased the property last year for nearly $3 million more than it sold it for. Dave Sandlin of Colliers International brokered the transaction on behalf of Carlyle, while the museum was represented in house.
The museum plans to keep part of its collection at its current location at Moffett Field, as the new building is remodeled. The project is expected to be completed by next spring.
