The Centers are: Mercer Square, a 91,000-sf center on Old Dublin Pike in Doylestown in Bucks County; Warwick Square, a 90,000-sf center in Warwick Twp., near Jamison, PA, also in Bucks County; and Towamencin Village Square, a 123,000-sf property on Sumneytown Pike in Kulpsville in Montgomery County.
Genuardi's markets typically average about 45,000 sf. Norristown, PA-based Genuardi's operates 40 supermarkets in Pennsylvania. Safeway Inc. acquired the family-owned chain in February 2001.
The seller of the shopping centers is identified only as "three related private investment partnerships." Jack Mitchell of the locally based office of First Washington handled the transaction. First Washington will provide management and leasing services at the centers.
