In another deal in the tower, Amacai Information Corp. signed a five-year lease to move into 8,300 sf on the 40th floor of 110-story building. The direct marketing information company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Targus Information Corp., becomes a new tenant in the building.

The 3.5 million-sf Sears Tower is due to pass to full ownership by Trizec Properties Inc., which currently controls it, at the end of this year. Despite speculations regarding a tenant exodus in the aftermath of last year's terrorist attacks, it remains about 95% occupied. Rental rates vary widely throughout the building, but according to brokers familiar with it, net lease rates there average between $18 and $24 per sf.
