According to the terms of the agreement, Aquarella will occupy the former Palomino Restaurant that is located at 8990 University Lane on the Aventine Restaurant Row. The new 6,600-sf restaurant is expected to open later this month.
The sublessor, RUI One Corp., was represented by Bill Shrader of Burnham Real Estate Services ONCOR International. Shrader also acted on behalf of the sublessee, an entity headed by Michael and Victoria McGeath, who also own Trattoria Aqua in Downtown La Jolla.
New restaurants are starting to slowly pop up around San Diego County, absorbing the available space that has been vacated by previous eateries. Another recent deal involved Viscosity Inc., with the company inking a $2.3-million agreement for a spot formerly occupied by Red Fish Restaurant. It plans to open a new restaurant and club in the 12,000-sf space located at 731 Fifth Ave.
