"The response to this has been outstanding," Nathan Crowell, project manager for builder Wespac Construction Inc. of Phoenix, told GlobeSt.com. The facility opens to the public Friday.
The freestanding building at 16203 N. Scottsdale Rd. in the Scottsdale Promenade was formerly the site of Mondo's Cafe. Fox Sports and B&B Restaurant Ventures are partners in the project.
Crowell said the complicated renovation work included the installation of 32 plasma screen televisions, three projection screen TVs and a large horseshoe-shaped bar along with a smoking room, dining area and a game room with pool tables.
Tonight's grand opening VIP celebration will feature appearances by platinum recording artist Smash Mouth, and athletes Terry Bradshaw, Jillian Barberie, Joe Buck, Wayne Gretzky, Fred Couples, Curt Schilling, Claude Lemieux, Roger Staubach, Mark Grace and Kenny Lofton.
