The 9 a.m. ceremony at the Koll Perimeter Center is expected to be attended by US congressmen, Jeff Flake and J.D. Hayworth, both Republicans from Arizona; Uwe Doerken, chairman and CEO of DHL Worldwide Express; and John Fellows, chairman and CEO, DHL Americas.
The company, which leased 110,000 sf at the center on Bell road and the Loop 101 Freeway in March, plans to invest $250 million in the region over the next five years and employ over 400 employees at facility. DHL's Scottsdale center is one of three company-owned fully integrated network data centers in the world. The other two centers are located in London and Kuala Lumpur. The company, which employs 1,100 people in the greater Phoenix area, also operates a $26-million customer relationship center in Tempe's Papago Park Center.
