The apartments rent for an average of $1,894 per unit. Units range to up to 1,635 sf for three bedrooms/two baths plus a den.

As of Nov. 8, the project was 24% occupied, and 31% occupied and preleased. Developed by Miami-based American Land Housing Group, the project was designed by Dorsky Hodgson + Partners of Fort Lauderdale. Suffolk Construction Co. served as the general contractor, and Omni Residential is in charge of leasing the project.

More than 80% of the apartments have a view of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. The rooftop sundeck and the fifth-floor public spaces--including a health club, pool and spa--also have waterfront views.

Bill Fountain, executive director of the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, noted the project is one of the first built under the city's new master plan. "The Strand is a key step in fulfilling the goal of increasing downtown residential units and attracting a new type of resident to the district," he says.
