Sara Lee Sells 101,800-SF Plant for $2.4M

PHILADELPHIA-The city's division of aviation pays $23.58 per sf for the Chicago-based consumer product conglomerate's former meat processing plant. It is on eight acres on Executive Ave., adjacent to Philadelphia International Airport.

PHILADELPHIA-Chicago-based Sara Lee Corp. has sold a 101,800-sf building to the city of Philadelphia division of aviation for $2.4 million, or about $23.58 per sf. The property is on eight acres at 8400 Executive Ave., adjacent to Philadelphia International Airport.

Sara Lee used the facility for meat processing. Its disposal is part of an overall corporate restructuring plan for the conglomerate that makes and markets a diverse range of consumer products under such brands as Hanes, Playtex, L’eggs and Hillshire Farm.

The buyer’s plans for the property have not been announced.
