The research, which lists preliminary labor force statistics for the previous month, says that San Diego's October unemployment rate was 4.2%. This figure matches exactly with September and August's revised unemployment levels of 4.2%, which mark a 0.2% drop from July's rate of 4.4%.

The county has also retained its ranking of number 10 statewide, which means that nine other regions in California have a lower unemployment rate than San Diego. The October labor force consisted of 1,484,700 people, according to the EDD's report, which adds that 1,421,800 workers were employed and 62,900 people were out of work.

In addition, San Diego has once again reported a lower level of unemployment than the statewide average. The state's overall unemployment rate is 6.2%, which is two whole percentage points than San Diego's unemployment level for October.
