The museum received $12.5 million, the largest proportion of this round of state funding, for renovations of the main building and an adjacent one. This grant comes on top of an additional $12.5 million in state money, donated to the museum fund by Schweiker earlier this year.

Franklin Institute received $7 million for its ongoing renovation project.

Walnut Street Theatre got $5 million for construction of a new, 300-seat theater and adjoining rehearsal hall.

Another $5 million went to Woodmere Art Museum's planned 24,000-sf addition that includes an exhibition hall, auditorium and administrative offices.

Moore College of Art & Design also got $5 million to add a technology center nd expand its studio, gallery and meeting space.

Mann Center for the Performing Arts received $3.5 million to build an education center and restaurant and renovate existing space.

Central Philadelphia Development Corp.'s plans to improve pedestrian use of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway received $2.1 million for additional lighting, sculptures and other outdoor art.

The new National Museum of American Jewish History, planned for IndependenceMall, received $2 million. This comes on top of Sidney Kimmel's recent $25-million donation.

Settlement Music School's Mary Louise Curtis branch in South Philadelphia received $1.5 million for an 11,000-sf addition and ongoing improvements.
