Building Sale will Bring Bronx Food Firm to Rockland

CONGERS, NY-Fischer Foods, a food distributor based in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx, will be relocating to a portion of 200 Brenner Driver, a 42,897-sf building in Congers, according to officials with Rockland Realty Corp.

CONGERS, NY-In a deal that will bring a Bronx food distributor and a Rockland County-based specialty mechanical contractor to the property, Baronia Group, LLC of Blauvelt, NY has purchased the 200 Brenner Drive building here for $2.1 million.

The transaction was reported by Steve Yassky, vice president of Rockland Realty Corp., who served as sole broker in the sale. The 42,897-sf building was sold by Samron Realty Co., LLC. Well Bread Loaf had occupied the industrial building for the past 15 years. Rockland Realty officials noted that the baker’s ownership changed hands several years ago and last month the firm consolidated its operations in Congers to another baking facility in New Jersey.

Baronia Group, LLC is a real estate holding company owned by the principals of Flynn Contracting of Blauvelt and Fischer Foods, a food distributor based in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. Fischer Foods will be relocating to the Brenner Drive property as will Flynn Contracting, which will be expanding its headquarters operations with the move to the Congers property, Rockland Realty officials note. In total, the two firms expect to expand their combined workforce from 65 employees to 80 workers in the next five years.
