The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and PowerLight Corporation, a solar energy company based in Berkeley, will work together to construct the 675 kW solar electric system on the roof of the Moscone Center, a meeting and exhibition facility. The project is scheduled to begin in March, and will take an estimated three months to complete, says Gregory Rosen, a PowerLight senior manager.

Proposition B authorizes the city to issue up to $100 million in revenue bonds to finance renewable energy projects - such as solar and wind power - and energy efficiency measures in city and county-owned buildings. Proposition H enables the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to issue revenue bonds to support renewable energy developments in city, commercial, and residential buildings.
