Penn National Names Head of Northeast Operations

PHILADELPHIA-Signaling the growing importance of the Northeast to its future, the Wyomissing, PA-based owner of two racetracks, and 11 off-track-wagering operations in this state alone, names 22-year industry veteran John V. Finamore executive vice president of Northeast regional operations.

PHILADELPHIA-Wyomissing, PA-based Penn National Gaming Inc. has named John V. Finamore, a 22-year veteran of the gaming and hotel management industries, executive vice president of Northeast operations. The new position signals this area’s growing importance to the company.

Kevin DeSanctis, president and chief operating officer, says Finamore’s responsibilities would include overseeing all facets of operations at Charles Town, WV and “other gaming operations that may develop for Penn National in the Northeastern US, including the potential for slots at Pennsylvania racetracks.”

Among its far-flung enterprises, Penn National operates Pocono Downs, another thoroughbred racetrack in Grantville, PA, and 11 off-track-wagering facilities in Pennsylvania along with the West Virginia facility.
