"The completion of Parkdale Crossing is part of a major investment in enhancing Parkdale Mall's status as the dominant retail complex in a trade area of 500,000 people," said CBL's chairman and CEO Charles B. Lebovitz. The center is anchored by Barnes & Noble, Office Depot and Lifeway Christian Bookstore.

CBL & Associates acquired the mall in early 2001 as a part of a multi-billion dollar acquisition of 21 malls and two centers from the Richard E. Jacobs Group Inc. Construction on Parkdale Crossing, a $12-million undertaking, began shortly after the transaction was finalized.

The center's completion was undertaken in concert with a mall overhaul. To date, the work has brought a 171,000-sf Foley's as well as major interior and exterior improvements. Soon to come will be a 26,415-sf Linens N Things. The mall construction will be completed in summer 2003.
