Sports Authority Renews 298,457-SF Lease

ATLANTA-Taking advantage of a depressed industrial real estate market in Henry County, the retailer is renewing a seven-year contract that has an estimated aggregate value of $4.18 million.

ATLANTA-With average asking bulk warehouse rents in the mid to high $2-per-sf range, Fort Lauderdale, FL-based Sports Authority renewed its seven-year lease for 298,457-sf at PM Realty Inc.’s 130 Greenwood Industrial Parkway building. The estimated aggregate value of the contract is $4.18 million.

“The current recession has slowed the leasing of the new bulk buildings in Henry County,” Steve Grable of Atlanta-based Colliers Cauble & Co. tells GlobeSt.com. “The Sports Authority was able to take advantage of this market condition in negotiating a favorable renewal with PM Realty.”

Grable and Chris Tomasulo of Colliers Cauble and Ron Steinhart of Colliers L&A in Philadelphia negotiated for Sports Authority. Pat Murphy of Trammell Crow Co. represented PM Realty.
