VISTA, CA-Work has kicked off on a $5-million renovation of Vista’s Moonlight Theater. The city-owned amphitheater, which is located in Brengle Terrace, will be rehabbed in three separate phases that will be completed between performance seasons. The first phase will entail the installation of underground fire lines, and drainage systems, as well as underground utilities. In addition, roadways around the amphitheater will be widened. In Phase II, the amphitheater will be demolished and a new one built. Excavation will occur below the theater, as dressing rooms and restrooms will be constructed underground. The final phase will include electrical and site work, as well as plumbing and exterior finishes.
Gafcon is providing construction management services, while Jim Porter, Vista’s director of parks and community services, is overseeing the project. Eric Davy Architects has designed the project, while Larry Dutton Partners is providing planning and engineering services.
