The building is going up on 20 acres. The tract size will allow the credit union to control where and how it grows for the next 50 years, said John Kelly, the credit union's senior vice president for planning and marketing. The credit union bought the land from Byron Routh Associates. The location is in the middle of the credit union's service area and close to its main office at Randolph-Brooks Air Force Base, where it was chartered in 1952.

The project's architect is San Antonio-based Chesney, Morales & Associates Inc. and the general contractor is Metropolitan Construction, also based in San Antonio. Randolph-Brooks has more than 210,000 members and 17 branches from San Antonio to Austin. It has $1.9 billion in assets.
