Space Imaging Establishes Itself in Gov't Market

RESTON, VA-Denver, CO-based Earth imagery information and services provider Space Imaging has staked its claim on the government marketplace by opening a new federal sales office in the building at 12355 Sunrise Valley Dr. in Fairfax County. In addition to its strategic location just outside of the District, the building is in close proximity to the National Imagery and Mapping Agency and the US Geological Survey. While the terms of the lease arrangement are not available, Space Imaging director of government affairs Mark Brender tells GlobeSt.com that the company will occupy a 4,000-sf space. The 17-year-old building itself is valued at $23 million.

“The Reston office will also serve as a staging point for Space Imaging’s policy, public and legislative affairs issues,” Brender says in a statement. “Our goal is to ensure there are wise forward-looking policies that encourage the government’s use of commercial remote sensing technologies.” Space Imaging’s neighbors in the building will include BB&T, BF Saul Mortgage Co., Sterling Commerce, and Wave Technologies International.
