The company is keeping an office in Hong Kong that had served as its Asian base. There were, however, some costs associated with the Hong Kong location that the company doesn't have in Shanghai, a company contact tells GlobeSt.com. "And Shanghai is the Silicon Valley of China," the contact says. "It just made sense to shift our primary office there."
In Austin, Legerity occupies about 100,000 sf in the Southpark Corporate Center along Freidrich Lane in the southeast submarket. It marks its second year in the space in February 2003. The company spun off from AMD Inc. about two years ago. It designs and sells chips for voice and data networks. Its production is handled by contract manufacturers.
