FHL Bank Helps Three Low-Income Housing Projects

WEST VIRGINIA-Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh has revealed its part in helping to facilitate the development of $3.5-million in affordable housing in the West Virginia cities of Martinsburg, Morgantown and Spring Hill. FHL Bank approved nearly $353,000 in grants through its Affordable Housing Program for a total of 56 housing units in the aforementioned cities.

“Our purpose has always been clear: We help make housing affordable and available,” FHL Bank senior vice president and director of community investment John Bendel says. “Throughout the region, we work with our partners so that our best resources come together to benefit those in need–from individuals and families to neighborhoods and communities.” In Martinsburg the Ashley Oaks Homeownership Project received $60,000 for six new low-income homes, Morgantown’s Project Pathway House received $180,000 for 40 rentals, and the Jubilee Heights project in Spring Hill received $112,500 for 10 homes to go to first-time buyers.
