EnVirtue to Call Old Town Winchester Home

WINCHESTER, VA-EnVirtue Biotechnologies Inc. has announced its plan to open its doors in a 2,500-sf space at 35 West Piccadilly St. in the city’s historic Old Town section. Business at the $1.5 million workspace is on target to begin next month. The biotech systems firm will ultimately bring to the area 12 new jobs–an added plus for which Virginia competed with the states of California and South Carolina.

Recognizing the economic importance of supplementing the area’s thriving biotechnology research and development sector, The Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Winchester-Fredrick County Economic Development Commission came out in full force to help bring EnVirtue to the city. “We selected Winchester for many reasons,” EnVirtue president Craig Downs explains. “The area offers a wide array of buildings for our additional growth, an unsurpassed quality of life, excellent transportation access and significant cost benefits. In addition, we were truly impressed by the professionalism of the Winchester-Fredrick County Economic Development Commission, Adams-Nelson & Associates and state representatives that worked on our project. Their responsiveness and hard work made the difference.”
