The facility is expected to open by March 2003, bringing 250 new jobs to the Martinsville-Henry County region. State and local government departments participated in wooing the new company. "This is part of our broader effort to recruit homeland security-related companies to the Commonwealth, realizing the growing importance of that industry," Governor Mark R. Warner says. "Axiom is exactly the type of company that Virginia can successfully partner with to meet the world's growing defense and commercial technology needs. Defense manufacturers have long been common in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads."
