The Ronto Group purchased the property, located two miles east of Interstate 75 on the south side of Bonita Beach Road in both Lee and Collier counties, from Dewey Garguilo and Michael Procacci for $42 million. Rich Sommerville of Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT Inc.'s Naples office brokered the transaction.
Plans for the land include an approximately 500-unit townhouse project, retail, convenience stores, office space and upscale residential units.
Rounding out the top 5 deals were, in order: the Colonial Golf and Country Club, Habitat Lakes LLC, Cypress Woods Golf and Country Club, and Moody Ranch.
The number two-ranked Colonial Golf and Country Club, located near the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and I-75 in Lee County, sold for $30 million. The property was purchased by Pulte Homes from Worthington Holdings. Ross W. McIntosh, an independent real estate broker in Naples, brokered the deal.
Coming in third was Dade Residential Developers' purchase of Habitat Lakes LLC, located three miles east of I-75 in Estero near Miromar Outlets and Florida Gulf Coast University. The property was sold by Corkscrew Enterprises for $25 million. Wes Broderson of EXIT Gulder Real Estate Inc. brokered the transaction.
The number four spot went to Dade Residential Developers' purchase of the Cypress Woods Golf and Country Club from Republic Bank for $14.5 million. The property is located at 3525 Northbrooke Drive in Naples. There is no broker of record on this deal.
Finally, the fifth largest transaction of the year was the sale of Moody Ranch for $11 million. Colonial Homes bought the property, located on Hancock Parkway in North Fort Myers, from The Amtel Group. The brokers involved in the deal were Bob Barber of Robert S. Barber Inc. and Bruce Hepp of Bruce F. Hepp LLC.
