Film Company Inks Five-Year East Village Deal

NEW YORK CITY-Content Film Inc., a digital film production and distribution company, is moving into 8,000 sf at 419 Lafayette St. here. The firm, which was represented by Cresa Partners, plans to stay for the next five years.

NEW YORK CITY-Adding to the East Village’s growing reputation as an enclave for the city’s motion picture industry, digital film production and distribution company Content Film Inc. has inked a lease for 8,000 sf here at 419 Lafayette St. While the exact price of the five-year lease was undisclosed, a spokesperson for Cresa Partners–the brokerage firm that represented Content Film in the transaction–tells GlobeSt.com that asking rents in the building range in the mid-$20s per sf.

According to Cresa’s senior VP Michael Smith, Content Film selected the downtown property because of “loft-style space” in pristine, “move-in condition.” Smith adds that the space also offers the tenant “room for future growth.” The building’s owner, Miachael Baum, was self-represented.
