This is the first all-new multifamily rental building to gain approval in Manayunk since a residential and commercial renaissance began taking place there more than a decade ago. Other proposed multifamily projects met with local opposition and litigation and were eventually blocked in court.
Tower's multifamily rental complex will contain 60 two-bedroom, balconied units, many overlooking the river. Units will range from 1,100 sf to 1,300 sf. Blatstein says rentals will be $1.50 per sf, or between $1,650 and $1,950 a month.
Completion is scheduled for this summer. The building is initially named for its address, 3750 Main, "because no one has yet come up with a good name," Blatstein says.
During the 1990s, Tower built a movie theater complex and retail center in Manayunk. It has also unveiled a proposed plan for Penn's Landing.
