Most recently, Russell was with Wilmington, DE-based WRR3 Realty Corp. Before that, he was vice president of asset management and acquisitions with New York-based Corporate Property Investors. He has placed more than $400 million in real estate equity and debt during his career, sold $200 million of investment properties, and extended $190 million in commercial mortgages and construction loans.

In an unrelated event, John K. Binswanger has been awarded the Chamber of Commerce's William Penn Award, its highest honor. Binswanger is chairman of locally based Binswanger/CBB.

The Chamber cited his tenure as commissioner of Fairmont Park, his presidency of the Fairmont Park Conservancy, and his role in garnering support for the proposal to bring the Barnes Foundation's art collection from Lower Merion, PA to Philadelphia.

His father, Frank Binswanger, received the same award in the late 1970s.
