Price Cos. Inc. a HVAC product manufacturing company headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, picked up the 999 N. Thornton Rd. plant, which has sat vacant about 18 months, for more than $2.9 million in a deal that will bring more manufacturing jobs to the small community. "It was a pleasant sight to see," Steve Pool, with Grubb & Ellis Co.'s industrial division, tells GlobeSt.com. "They've been losing a lot of companies so it was nice to see someone come in." Price Cos. selected Arizona for its new manufacturing plant to meet the demand for its products throughout the Western United States, Pool said.
Seller APW of Milwaukee closed the plant, known as the APW/Mayville Metals Facility when it consolidated operations about 18 months ago. "The building was ideal for this buyer," said Pool. "You could almost come in and start operating in a relatively short time." He said the sale also included 20 acres of undeveloped land and some machinery.
Pool, along with Chad Vande Zande of Grubb & Ellis|Boerke Co. in Milwaukee, WI represented the seller in the transaction. The buyer was self-represented.
