The new resident is Neogent Inc., which has leased 1,800 sf at Northpoint Center at 6850 Austin Center Blvd. in the northwest submarket. The company's move from Long Beach, CA coincides with the naming of John Ciulla as CEO and chairman. He had been chief information officer of Austin-based Vignette Inc. He replaces Glenn Ohno, who had been Neogent's president and chairman.
Neogent, which provides consulting and software integration services, will have a small number of employees in Austin to start, but plans to grow "conservatively," a company contact tells GlobeSt.com. It has about 50 employees in several offices around the country. The company says it moved to Austin because of the city's pool of seasoned technology workers.
While Neogent was coming to town, ProSoft Training Inc. said it was leaving. The company said it would save money by leaving the 18,280 sf leased at 3001 Bee Cave Rd. It will consolidate its headquarters staff in the 13,310 sf that it leases at 410 N. 44th St. in Phoenix. The Austin lease expires in April 2006 and the Phoenix lease expires this July, according to a company filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
