The 14,000-sf store, the first in Glendale, will anchor a 55,000-sf retail complex currently under construction at Union Hills Road and Glendale Avenue. Darren Pitts, first vice president in Phoenix for CB Richard Ellis Inc., tells GlobeSt.com that the Arrowhead Ranch Plaza, rising on 9.2 acres, also will include a NextCare Urgent Care facility, Quiznos Subs, Sonic, Starbucks and the Deer Valley Credit Union. Construction on that project is expected to be completed by mid-summer.

The Dallas-based Champion Partners' Scottsdale team purchased the acreage for nearly $2.7 million from Wadsworth and Sons of Salt Lake City. The developer also purchased an adjacent parcel totaling nearly eight acres for more than $2 million for medical office condos, Pitts said. The medical office project is expected to break ground next year. Both land sales were negotiated by Pitts and Mike Clark, an account manager with CB Richard Ellis.
