The multi-million dollar project, which includes two phases, will be built on 11 acres at northeast corner of 64th Avenue and Union Hills Road by Summit Builders for developer Double G Ranch of Scottsdale. "It's going to fit nicely into that area adjacent to the hospital," Frank Boutin, Summit's director of health-care construction, tells GlobeSt.com.
The project, named for the orange orchards that once covered the area, is scheduled to wrap up construction on the first building, a 53,441-sf, two-story, class A structure, in June. The buildings will feature stucco exteriors and European-style interiors with recessed lobby ceilings. Landscaping will include extensive orange trees and date palms to reflect the area's indigenous orchard groves.
The project's second phase, a mirror image of the present construction, will get under way once the first phase is completed and leased. Boutin said four medical groups have already expressed interest in leasing the first phase when it's completed. Architect David L. Schmitt & Associates of Scottsdale designed the complex.
Summit completed its first medical office project for Double G Ranch in 1998 with the construction of the Shea Medical Plaza, a 45,000-sf office complex with 60,000 sf of subterranean parking located at the southeast corner of 74th Street and Shea Boulevard.
