According to city officials, the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District office employees hope to be set up in their new office by the end of this week. The district purchased the 25,000-sf building for $4.8 million last year and invested approximately $350,000 into remodeling the building since then.

City officials say that the building, which is located at 5020 Franklin Dr., was selected over the course of three years, during which a planning committee and real estate firm considered several properties. The district considered leasing a building but eventually decided that buying a building was a better financial decision.

The district will share the new building with the Tri-Valley One Stop Career Center, an employment service.
