Meanwhile, SuperFresh Supermarket will soon begin a total interior and exterior renovation of its 43,354-sf store in the Bristol shopping center. In addition, the adjacent intersection of US 13 and PA 413 is being reconstructed. US 13 and the I-95 spur are being widened to five lanes, while the I-95 spur and Ford Road are being widened to four lanes, and jug handles are being added. The reconstruction is scheduled for completion by this summer.
The Bristol center has more than 30 stores. Other tenants include Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Payless ShoeSource and Eckerd Drugs.
Plymouth Meeting, PA-based Kramont Realty Trust owns the 276,000-sf shopping center. Louis P. Meshon Sr., Kramont's president and CEO, said in a statement that the Wal-Mart lease "is another example of our strategic re-tenanting program that enhances the merchandise mix, stability and draw of our shopping centers. Replacing a former Ames store, Wal-Mart will enhance the shopping center and broaden its regional appeal, attracting more customers and complementary tenants."
Bentonville, AK-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. operates more than 2,845 discount stores, Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets and more than 520 Sam's Clubs in the U.S. It operates about 1,255 additional stores abroad. Annual sales are $218 billion.
