Overlake Hospital, which is the largest hospital on the Eastside, will open a breast-screening center and two clinics in Issaquah in late spring. The facilities are part of a long-term expansion that is expected to bring a 30-bed satellite hospital to Issaquah over the next two decades.

Hospital representatives say that this expansion is necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the rapidly expanding population of the Issaquah-Sammamish community. The expansion will be built around 14 acres of potential office space at Lakeside Office Park and Meadow Creek Office Park. Overlake has already leased 18,000-sf of space in Lakeside for the screening center, new clinics and future expansion.

According to representatives, the project will be done in three stages and should be finished in less than 20 years. Overlake is currently seeking permits for the first stage of expansion, which would cost about $14 million.
