TechSmart Takes 106,515 Reckson Building

NEW YORK CITY-The surplus and refurbished office equipment supplier consolidates and expands its New Jersey and Long island operations into one new space at the Reckson Business Center at Airport International Plaza. Local firm Ashlind Properties brokers.

NEW YORK CITY-Surplus and refurbished office equipment provider TechSmart has signed a 10-year lease for an entire building at Reckson Business Center at Airport International Plaza. The facility will serve as expansion and consolidation space for the firm, which will move its New Jersey and Edgewood, Long Island operations to the 106,515-sf facility.

Richard Cohen, president of Hauppauge, Long Island-based Ashlind Realty, represented TechSmart in the deal. Financial details are not being disclosed, but asking rents at the four-building industrial/office complex are around $8 per sf and industry sources tell GlobeSt.com the deal for 2004 Orville Dr. came in close to that figure.

Cohen worked with TechSmart for roughly a year, looking at a number of locations, before signing with Reckson. “It’s a state-of-the-art facility, it’s modern, and Reckson was very easy to work with, he tells GlobeSt.com.”And they offered us a very attractive deal to move in.”
